CT Woman, 44, Killed In I-95 Crash

A Fairfield County woman was killed after allegedly running into the back of a tanker on I-95 that was stopped for backed-up traffic.

Julia Delva Clarke, age 44, of Fairfield, was killed around 12:30 a.m., Monday, Aug. 21, in Westport, said the Connecticut State Police.

A preliminary investigation found that Clarke was traveling north in the right lane in a 2019 Porsche Macan when she ran into the back of a Freightliner Cascadia which was towing a Kenworth tanker, state police said.

State Police said Clarke was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the tractor-trailer sustained suspected minor injuries.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
